March 16, Mumbai (Maharashtra): Tigers of Kolkata defeated Majhi Mumbai by 10 wickets in the summit match on Friday in front of a packed Dadoji Kondadev Stadium to win the first Indian Street Premier League – T10 tennis ball event.
After winning the tip-top toss and choosing to bowl, the Kolkata Tiigers not only contained the powerful Majhi Mumbai hitters but also regularly removed wickets to reduce the team that had amassed four of the top five totals in the season to a pitiful 58 for 9. After ten days, they launched a lavish celebration that demonstrated the excellence of tennis ball cricket, chasing the target in 7.4 overs without losing a single wicket.
According to a release, the Indian Street Premier League – T10 is a cutting-edge Tennis Cricket League whose main goal is to find, develop, and elevate cricket players from lower levels. It aims to bring together the best local cricket talent in India, giving participants a wide platform to display their abilities.Tigers of Kolkata devised a strategy to go up against Majhi Mumbai’s captain Yogesh Penkar and top scorer Abhishek Dalhor because they realized it would be hard to just restrain them. Raju Mukhiya (2/12) and Babbu Rana (2/18) provided solid support for Bhavesh Pawar, who grabbed three wickets for nine runs, with only Vijay Pawle managing to reach double digits.
The Tiigers of Kolkata demonstrated once more why their bowling unit was ranked so highly throughout the competition by bowling Majhi Mumbai out for 45 runs in the group stages.
Prathamesh Pawar and Munna Shaikh, the openers for the Tigers of Kolkata, started the game carefully and managed just 16 runs in the first four overs. However, in the fifth over, the latter smashed two sixes to relieve some of the pressure.
